I think brunette isn't the right term. In french we're used to make a distinction between dark hair and brown hair. But there is only one name for people who have these two hair colors. (Is it also only one term in english ?)

.... 'doesn't really matter...

So these Forgotten Ladies are my favorites (three of them are from french animated movies huhu...*u* ... (actually those films aren't only french but....)) That's because the ladies have a lot of different skins, that it was so nice to work on it.

Left to Right :

Akhesa : The Sun Princess
Yum Yum : The Thief and the Cobbler
Anne-Marie : All dogs go to Heaven
Karaba : Kirikou and the Sorceress
Mia : Mia and the Migoo
Tuptim : The King and I
Chel : The Road to Eldorado
Crysta : Ferngully : the last rainforest

I included Karaba because she becomes kind at the end. I don't draw the bad women otherwise. Or not for this project.

Other Forgotten Ladies' crossovers :

The brunettes 2 : [link]
The Ultra blonds : [link]
The Blonds : [link]

=========================================

Really neat. I recognized all but the ladies from the three French films, which I am now looking up. I love "The Thief and the Cobbler" by the way. ^ ^

I just saw "La Reine Soleil" (thanks to your fanart ^ ^). I couldn't understand much (My last French lesson was in grade school *blush*.), but I still really enjoyed it. It was a beautifully animated piece, and I've had a thing for Ancient Egypt since I was little.

I also saw "Kirikou et la Sorciere" a couple of days ago (luckily with subtitles). 'Another gorgeously done film, with interesting music.

Next up, I'm going to see "Le Roi et l'Oiseau". I love animation and seeing how different places around the world use the medium.

I've already seen "Karlik Nos", but again, without subs, so I didn't always completely understand what was happening.

Out of curiosity, have you seen the fanmade "Recobbled" cut of "The Thief and the Cobbler"? If not, you totally should.

I am happy that my fanarts allowed you to discover these cartoon movies... And even happier that you appreciate these movies ^^.
Le Roi et l'oiseau is older than Kirikou and La reine Soleil, and the universe is very special... But that's a great movie. A great... and special movie ^^.

Karlik Nos has been translated in french (yépi) and a lot of russian movies too, I guess we're lucky but when I see how much russian movies stay unknown ... (like the serie of movies about the Bogatyrs... amazing... ) and how much nobody cares (while when a Ghibli movie isn't translated... it creates the drama -_-)
Whyyyy only japanese and american movies are translateed ><

I guess the recobbled cut of the Thief and the Cobbler is the version I have seen... but there are so many versions (like for Blade Runner or the butterfly Effect) I'm not sure ^^'

I just saw "Le Roi el l'oiseau", and you're right, it is a very special movie. ^ ^ For some reason, I had the feeling that I'd seen it before somewhere. Maybe it was the style of animation...? Hmm, I don't know, but in any case, it was a very unique film. I can see why it was so highly acclaimed.

I've also had the feeling I'd seen it before when I first saw it... It was as if I still knew the characters. It's a very melancholic movie... I think people can be totally in... or totally out. I always have mixed feelings when I see it, and I can't see it too often because of that ^^
(I hope I'm understandable... I'm never clear when I talk about that movie)

In France, we do sometimes good animated movies but we are unable to export them -_-... (like in Russia) (I can't believe that a good cartoon would not have any success in other countries -_-) that's too bad. You know, my DVD is only in french with french subtitles (I've just verified) soo good luck to find a copy. And you will have to tell me what you think about it ^^

Thanks ^^

The question of the title was my problem : brown-haired or black-haired people sounded strange to my ears ^^ '. Thus I found the term: brunettes even if that includes the both hair colors.
It may be better because Mia, by example, has sometimes brown and sometimes black hair...

Actually.... That really doesn't matter xD
